My therapy fees and sliding scale model
My approach to fees is built on principles of fairness, accessibility
and sustainability. I offer a tiered structure that invites you to choose
the rate that best reflects your financial circumstances.
The ethical fees model below is built on the following pillars:
Economic justice – acknowledging systemic inequality and diverse financial realities
Flexibility – allowing my clients to access therapy at a rate they can genuinely manage
Mutual support – enabling those who can pay more to help subsidise access for others
Sustainability – ensuring I can continue offering therapy to as many people as possible while earning a modest living.
The figures below are examples – please let me know if you’re unsure where you might fall and want to discuss further.
Not sure where you fit? That’s OK – we can talk it through. My aim is to find a fee that feels fair and manageable for you, while keeping the work sustainable for me.
Solidarity: £100 or more
By choosing this rate, you help make therapy more accessible for others by directly supporting low-cost places. You also help sustain my work as an independent practitioner. This rate may be right for you if:
You live comfortably without financial stress
You have savings, investments or other financial security
You can access emergency funds if needed
Your company or insurance covers part/all of your therapy
You want to help create access for others.
Sustainability: £70
This is my standard fee (note that it’s £80 in London due to higher costs of working in the city). It reflects the cost of running my practice, and enables me to make a modest, sustainable living. This rate may be right for you if:
You can cover your basic living expenses (e.g. rent or mortgage)
You can afford occasional new purchases, travel or non-essentials.
Supported: £45
This rate makes therapy more accessible if you’re on a limited income or managing without much financial flexibility. This rate may be right for you if:
You don’t have spare income for holidays or luxuries
You earn less or have inconsistent income
You work in a caring role or support others unpaid.
Equity: £20
A limited number of low-cost spaces are available for clients in financial hardship or from marginalised backgrounds. This rate may be right for you if:
You’re experiencing financial insecurity or instability
You live paycheque to paycheque and struggle to afford essentials
You wouldn’t be able to access therapy without this rate.
