Fairness and flexibility: how I approach therapy fees
I offer therapy on a sliding scale. That means we agree on a fee together that feels affordable for you and respectful of the time and space we share together.
See my sliding-scale model below for the full details.
Please note that lower-cost places are possible as a result of the sliding-scale model outlined above. As a result, availability can be limited, and I review this regularly.
I use this sliding-scale approach because I’m deeply committed to social justice, and believe therapy should be accessible to anyone who needs it, whatever their financial or social circumstances. At the same time, it allows me to sustain a modest practice while offering therapy to as many people as possible.
While I appreciate that talking about money can sometimes feel uncomfortable, it’s also an important part of building a clear and honest working relationship. I hope it is clear that my approach to fees is rooted in transparency and fairness, and the sliding scale is designed to make therapy accessible while also valuing the time, energy and training that this work involves.
This approach to fees is one way I try to make a difference to as many people as I can. If the suggested fees don’t quite work for your situation, that’s OK – we can talk about it. Together, we’ll find a fee that feels fair and manageable for you and for me.
If you’re interested in the thinking behind how I set my fees, you can view the ethical fees model that guides my practice via the button below. It’s grounded in values of economic justice, flexibility and mutual support – where those with more financial capacity help make therapy accessible for others.
